I love date coincidences  :)

On my eldest daughters 16th birthday 26 May, it would have been her Great Great Uncles 100 th birthday.

Mine is 29th March and my sister (technically she is a half sister) is the 30th  I say I was her 21st birthday present!

My Uncle was born on his Dads birthday, I think that would be a nice surprise  :)

My maternal grandmother's youngest child, and only son, was born on her birthday.  I've always thought that must have been pretty special for her.  He was like her, too, in looks and personality.

13 is the lucky number in our family.. myself and my brother born that date (different months), his eldest daughter has the same birthday as him, and his mother-in-law also has the same birthday.

His youngest daughter was born on their wedding anniversary.

Here is food for thought:  Given the number of people currently living, there are approximately 18,000,000 other people on the planet who share your birthday.  That would make one helluva party.  I use this fact to throw cold water on people who annoy me with what their daily horoscope says.  It doesn't take many people in a room to make it very likely that at least two have the same birthday.

Of my 6 siblings and myself, 5 dates are Mar 30, Mar 31, Aug 13, 14, 16.  This was a result of when my dad liked to take leave (he was a lifer in the US Navy).

It doesn't take many people in a room to make it very likely that at least two have the same birthday.

With 23 people in a room, there's a better than 50/50 chance that two of them will share a birthday.

With 57 people it is 99% certain.

I think those probabilities are based on random people ... what about the chances of repeating birthdays within adjacent generations of an extended family ?

Seems to me that "chance" (implying random) is not a relevant concept in determining something like this.  You can increase your odds of repeating birth days across generations quite easily.  Human gestation is approx 280 days (40 weeks).  Any time you can control the outcome to any degree, chance is not relevant.
