They are beautiful. Reminds me of the embroidery my mother did. It is lovely to have any family heirloom.

Well done :D
Never let them out of your sight.  I wonder if the embroidery was done by a loved one?
I have personal post cards sent by my grandfather to his family during WW1, interesting to read on what he thought about the Germans.  These postcards had his photo on them, which were taken before departure here in NZ.
Store your treasured items in a fire safe box, also scan and copy onto a few memory sticks, give to other relation's for safe keeping.

How lovely to get those and I am so pleased that they have ended up with someone who will value them for reasons other than money and will treasure them.

Once I found a whole lot of postcards at a collector's fair from the collection of a fairly close family connection.  I had to pay £40 and that did not buy them all but I picked out the best.  I think it was more than the family concerned received for the whole house clearance!  How can people sell these things?

However recently was given loads of photos and other bits and pieces, this time the family thought about who would like them and preserve them for the future.

Best wishes,

Selina
