I think he joined up originally at Woolwich, Blackheath and yet the form which shows that he was leaving because of a disability says that he first joined at Beverley. The unit is R F. A and he was a driver.

Have had a look at his papers again and what it says beside France is, I think, BEF which would stand for British Expeditionary Force and no particular place in France would be stated.

Nick
Look at 2nd column it should have a numbered Bde...I cant see it as it gets pixellated if i zoom too much but am sure if you can magnify it you will get a Brigade

Ady :)

Nick,

As far as I can make out:

He attested 11/1/16 and was placed on Reserve.
Mobilised 1/11/16 and posted to No.1 Depot RFA (Newcastle).
Later in November (3rd?) he was posted to No.6 Battery, 1b Reserve Brigade, which was based just outside Forest Row in East Sussex.
He proceeded overseas on 25/5/17, being posted to B Battery, 123 Brigade on 5/6/17.
On leave 14/2/18 to 28/2/18 and returned to 123 Brigade.
Returned to UK (Clipstone Camp) 31/1/19 for discharge 3/2/19.

As Ady said, 123 Brigade was part of 37th Division Artillery:

The war diary is at TNA in WO 95/2521.
