http://www.peterjtyldesley.com/bongs/lunn/pages/P09.html
this is about Tyldesley have you seen it already?
It may give some clues as to why they moved out of Tyldesley to Walkden which is about an hour walk away

Sorry Toni.........got carried away a bit there!!

I've just been skimming through that link, very interesting....... I'll have to sit and read it proper.

Yes, I'd seen that link........but thanks for reminding me.

1851 census shows 9 exact matches for Wallworks b. Tyldesley
What is interesting is there is a Richard b. 1792 Tyldesley (with daughter Margaret b. 1819 also Tyldesley)
This is around 10 years later than your William.
Obviously people come and go and he may not be connected but I think he is worth following just in case 10 years betwixt children is not a huge gap back then there could be more in between who are not showing up as I have put in the search requirements Wallwork b. Tyldesley, for example if there were females born betwixt William & Richard they may have married or equally children could have died.
By 1851 they are living in Blackburn
I don’t think back then people would give their p.o.b as Tyldesley unless they knew the actual place
With Richard being born in 1792 and Margaret in 1819 and then you William b. 1782ish and John 1815 all in Tyldesley they would have certainly known each other if nothing else.
Richard & Margaret 14 Walmerley Street, Blackburn Richard is a Cotton Loomer and Margaret a cotton weaver, what occupation was your William? Although cotton weavers and the like were common back then in this area.
HO107; 2259; 463; 10
A Richard Wallwork died in Blackburn in 1853 Q1 and he does not show in the 1861 census.
Likewise there is a death for a Maraget Wallwork in 1854 Q2  in Blackburn and I am unable to find a positive match for her in 1861 or a marriage
So I think you need to look closely at Richard, who were his parents? Who was Margarets mother? Were there any more children?
Incidentally do you have Williams parentage?

I'll try and follow up on that Richard, Toni.  I agree, he's somebody to look at.

William in the '41 was a labourer.  '51 a labourer in the colliery.   John, his son was a miner.

I don't have anything more on William....... neither of his parents.   There's just been too many options to make a definite match!!!

My brain isn't in gear much this week but looking as to why the families may have moved away from Tyldesley I found this.

So it looks as though during the 1820's they were problems and people would move to get work.

there doesnt seem to be much online i can see why you are having problems you really need the church records for Tydlesley at least

the only thing i can think of doing is listing all the Wallworks from Lancs (over 2000 online) and putting them into family groups
