Tephra's Scavenger Hunt....Everyone Welcome To Join In
« on: Tuesday 20 July 10 10:34 BST (UK) »

Welcome to this weeks Scavenger Hunt and you can see by the title it's mine!!   But don't worry, it's not the elusive Ernest I'm after this time.

Good Luck and Good Hunting

Barbara

                                        *****************************

William Wallwork was born in 1781/182 in Tyldesley.  He died on 29 December 1857 in Hill Top, Walkden and was buried on 2 January1858 in Walkden St Pauls

C41HO107/543/12   Higher Hill Top, Walkden  Other families at Hill Top – mostly Cookes.
C51HO107/2217/110  384 Hill Top, Walkden. Other possible Wallwork relatives living nearby.
C61 RG9/2859/56/44  Hill Top, Walkden
C71 RG10/3965/85/36 184 Hill Top Walkden

William 'married' Mary.  Mary was born in 1793/1794.  She died on 9 September 1883 and was buried on 13 September 1883 in Walkden St Pauls.  (Gravestone)

Their only child, John Wallwork was born in 1814/1815 and died on 12 September 1881.  (Gravestone,  St Pauls, Walkden)  He 'married' Sarah before 1836.  Sarah died on 7 December1894 and was buried on 12 December1894 in Walkden St Pauls (Gravestone)

C41/51/61/91 Hill Top, Walkden.
C51 2217

I have all the information (I think!) on John's descendants through to my Grandfather, Levi born in 1903

Looking on the Lancashire OPC site, there are a number of possibilities for the marriage of William to Mary, but nothing I can pin down.  Same with the parentage of William.....there seems to be just too many Wallworks in that area

If possible, I'd like to find out if there were any other children born to William and Mary, also the marriage - if any - of William and Mary, also John and Sarah.

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Toni, I'd seen that, but I'm not sure if that is THE St Pauls      :)

I'll try and put a map on here of Walkden and Tyldesley, just to give you an idea

It wouldn't post, too big.   I'll reduce it and try again.
