I haven't been having much luck trying to locate a death on SP for John McBride and wondered if anyone can help?

He was born in about 1811 in Ireland and married to Hannah MacKay. In the 1851 census, he is a carter by occupation and residing at Elba St, Wallacetown, Newton On Ayr. This is the last occasion i can verify that he was alive.

In August 1856, a daughter called Catherine McBride was married. John is recorded as being a deceased carter. Catherine's residence is listed as Smith St, Ayr.

So he died between 1851 and 1856.

I noticed that Catherine was married in the Catholic church so I had a look to see if there were any births recorded in Ayrshire to John and Hannah.  Voila....there are 2

 22/02/1845 05/03/1845 MCBRIDE HANNA - JOHN MCBRIDE/HANNA MCKAY F AYR, ST MARGARET'S
 29/12/1847 01/01/1848 MCBRIDE HANNA - JOHN MCBRIDE/HANNA MCKAY F AYR, ST MARGARET'S

I would say your best bet is to wait a bit for SP to release the remaining Catholic records (marriages and deaths/burials) and then have a look in the deaths recorded at St Margaret's in Ayrshire and see if he's listed.
