Bonhill
« on: Monday 19 July 10 23:18 BST (UK) »
Hi there,
I'm trying to research my great great grandfather who disappeared in the mid 1900s leaving a wife and my my great grandmother behind. He was an accountant and according to the 1901 census, lived in Bank House, Bonhill. I can't seem to find any record of a building called "Bank House". Does anyone remember it or know anything about it?
His name was John Taylor and he was born in 1870. He married Kathleen Nicholson in 1898 and their daughter was Kathleen Mary Taylor born 1899.
Thanks very much for all your help!
Julia

There was a building at the bottom of Bonhill brae that had 2 columns outside it quite an ornate building. My mother told me it used to be a bank at one time.
In the history of Bonhill it mentions the bank in Bonhill.
