Pigots Register 1830
« on: Monday 19 July 10 17:05 BST (UK) »
Please could somebody help me with a 'look up'. ;)I have just about given up looking for my Ancester William Wright, probably born about 1810.  He was a victular to the navy, and says in the records of his marrigae to his wife Louisa, in Malta, that he comes from Alverstoke, Gosport, but I cannot find any real trace. His son Charles Henry Wright (1843 )marries a Louisa Nibbs, who has parents that DO come from Alverstoke,a John Nibbs, who is a Master Baker, also for the Navy.  I am sure, a long time ago, I have seen a register of sort of census, possibly for the dockyard with both of these families on the same sheet??? or was it Pigots Register!  Could some one please put me out of my misery!!!! ???

Do you know what Louisa's maiden name was?  And do you know the names of any of her and William's children?  I'm looking for a George William Wright, who seems to have arrived with the fairies, so anytime someone mentions a Wright I just have to check. ???

Hi!, thanks for your efforts!!  Louisa s name was Allen, daughter of Louis Barber Allen, she had her guardians permission to marry so I take it she was not 21!!They married in 1837, in Malta, and had children, Mary Ann 1839 ( cant find any more on her)James Martin 1841 died 1842  Charles Henry, 1843, and lived on,George Martin 1845, died 1848, Frederick John bn 1850, he came back to England, by 1870,and married and then died 1877!! They were all born in Malta.  I know so much about the family, that William was a victular for the navy, and I feel sure I have seen records of him in England - somewhere!! ??? Cheers Chris
Sorry, I have no George William in my tree!!

Dear Marigold
Suggest you post this on the Hampshire board as there are people there who have a copy of Pigots and will be able to help you.

I might have some info about Louisa and William Wright's children.

They had a child named James Richard who died 17 Jul 1842, at the age of 7 months.
He is registered at the Msida Bastion Garden Cemetery.

As the cemetery has been vandalized and destroyed many times since 1806, we do not have all the names registered here. And usually, as long as they were not baptised, there were not registered at the church either....

I suppose his other children should have been buried at the same place.

Do you have more info about William Wright ?
I am working for cemetery and we are always happy to know more about our residents :)

I don't have any information about the family, but just to point out, if you didn't notice, that these  posts are from 2010.
If you click on the original poster's name, MAr1gold, you can see they have not been on this site since 2012.
They may still get email notifications, so might see your reply.
I didn't want you to be waiting on tenterhooks for a prompt reply!  :)
