Plate Drawer
« on: Saturday 17 July 10 13:28 BST (UK) »
I have a relative whose occupation was listed as a Plate Drawer.c late 1800's
Could it be something to do with making boilers or even the shipping trade.
I have done a search and only found sites that suggest I get a kitchen renovation including new drawers. :(

Hi Dave,
Welcome to RootsChat.
Is this occupation in the census? If so which one and what is his name?

G'day Stan, thanks for the welcome.
I am away from home a the moment and haven't got all my notes with me, but his name was Daniel McLean and he lived in Glasgow until c 1910.
He did send some time at sea, but occupation unknown at that time.

For metal working search under hot drawn steel or cold drawn steel. The operator of the the machinery is a drawer.
