Cornelius Edwin & Ellen TEMPLE - CENSUS

Hi All

Would like to find Cornelius Edwin and Ellen TEMPLE in the 1871 census.

I have them in 1851 & 1861. Cornelius was born in Scotland in 1822. Ellen was born in Roehampton, Surrey around 1828. Their children i have found are Ellen TEMPLE, James TEMPLE and Frederick Stephen TEMPLE.

Just curious to find them in 1871

the strange thing is i have found a death for cornelius edwin temple in chelsea which is quiet near to where this family are in 1871
but this death occurred in 3rd qtr 1861
so if this is him who is the father of the 2 youngest children here

Is it possible that she remarried and lost a second husband within 10 years? But then i guess she wouldn't be listed as TEMPLE would she.

I thought this was a simple request now it's just opened another can of worms (that i will worry about another day)

i can tell you that by 1881 ellen had married the lodger william wilton

so it looks as if possibly oliver was the son of william and ellen before they married

Before i go ... there were actually two boys born after Cornelius died. In 1881 Oliver is listed as a WILTON age 11 but Charles is listed as a TEMPLE age 17! With a step brother age 16.

Can you find a birth index for Charles?
