Henry Carrington, Barton upon Irwell
« on: Wednesday 14 July 10 16:08 BST (UK) »
Can anyone help with information about the mrriage of Henry Carrington to Alice Williams, Free BMD shows that it took place in the March Quarter of 1882 at Barton upon Irwell. Also that a Henry Carrington died, aged 30 in the Sept. quarter of 1882 at Barton. ( The same person?). Lancashire BMD states that the marriage was at Christ Church, Patricroft. I'm specifically looking for Henry's place of birth, occupation and father's name and occupation. That way I will either have closure on problem I'm trying to solve or can eliminate him from my search. Anyone up for the challenge?

Liz

Hi,

The family search pilot site shows that they married 27nd March, 1882 and both he and Alice were Widower/widow. His father was Richard Carrington and hers was Richard Waring.

Mo

Thanks Mo, Richard was the name I was hoping for!  though if it's the Henry I'm looking for he wasn't a widower - his first wife was alive elsewhere in Lancashire, but the info you have provided means that I can be more confident of a result if I order the certificate. I'm still open to any other in-put that anyone has to add though.

Cheers

Liz

Hi,

At the top of the main lancashire board  is look up offers.  Our dear Cancan often goes (she`s wonderful).  When she is next planning a visit she will post a notice.  As you have the date and the church I am sure she would take a look for you if you can wait.  The film number is MFPR1944 .

Naughty Henry!  ;D ;D

Mo

Think you might have to go to Salford local history library while Manchester Central library is closed Mo?

Mind you, i should keep quiet about Salford. It is a really friendly place and ever so helpfull. I wonder if they have more staff on at mMancheter to help?
