Parishes in New Ross

I have found relatives who lived in various townlands in New Ross. I have their civil birth
and marriage certificates. I would like to get their Church records of Baptismal and
marriage. The problem is I don't know which Parish to apply. I don't know if they would all come under one parish  or eight different parishes.
I'm hoping somebody can help please.
Horetown, Foulksmills, Nash, Old Ross, Ballygarvan Owenduff, Dunmain, and
Ballylannan Owenduff.

You didn't mention what religion the relatives were - but if they were RC, you can check various parish details on the Irish Times website - see : County Wexford RC Parish Map  Click on the map to see details of each parish and details of the civil parishes and townlands included.

I think most of the townlands you mention are in the registration district of New Ross, which covers about a third of the county, rather than the town itself.

Were your ancestors Catholic, Church of Ireland or Presbyterian?

I live near Old Ross so I can tell you that there is St. Marys Church of Ireland there, the cemetery contains both catholic & church of Ireland burials,. For catholic burials in St. marys C.Of I cemetery contact Rev. F.Murphy, St. Marys Church, Cushenstown, Foulksmills, Co. Wexford. ( St. Marys Church in Cushenstown is about 2 miles from Old Ross but it was the burial place of most people living in the locality. My husbands grandparents are buried there.)
If they were Church of Ireland, contact the Reverened L. Rogers, The Rectory, College Road ,New Ross,Co. Wexford.

As regards Horetown, if protestant please contact the rector, St. Iberius Church of Ireland, Wexford.  Horetown is in the Wexford Union of Parishes.

If catholic , please contact the Parish priest in Taghmon, Co. Wexford.  I don't know his name but if you google www.ferns.ie this will give you the list of Catholic churches in the Wexford area and also who the parish priests are.

Also have you their civil marriage certs?  this should give you the name of the church the marriage took place and also whether it was catholic or protestant.

By the way Dunmain is Ballykelly parish, nash is Gusserane parish. But if protestant, then it would be Whitechurch, again Rev. Rogers should be able to help.

Catholic Parishes:
Old Ross - Cushenstown
Horetown - Taghmon
Folksmills - Clongeen (boundaries changed a lot over the years so check dates)
Ballylannan - pretty sure would also be Clongeen.

Old Ross is in Cushinstown parish so you need to go to Fr.Byrne he can also cover the church of Ireland in old ross as this no longer in use.
Foulkmill was partly in Horestown and clongeen but the village of Foulkmills is only a mile from clongeen church and not far from New Bawn Church either. New Bawn is a different parish.
Ballylannan is just outside Wellingtonbridge but i couldn't tell you the church nearest it but it is close Clongeen.
If you have any names for the old ross area we may cross paths, I live two minutes from old ross.
