Police officer records for Suffolk
« on: Friday 09 July 10 11:45 BST (UK) »
Hi

I have been told that My GR Gr Grandfather WILLIAM HENRY BORLEY became a Police officer in 1851 in Suffolk.  Then apparently he had to compulsorily resign in 1855.  Then in 1861, 1871, 1881 census he was a Police officer again.  I have been told by some one that they have seen the record for where he became a policeman in 1851 in Suffolk.

Is there any way to get a copy of this record.

I would appreciate any help given

Hi Thank you for the site.  I might try to PM Terry on there and see if they are still around.  I don't  have any record Numbers, but someone who saw the records said it was 1851.  However they didn't see fit to pass on the information.  They were on a visit from London.  I live in Australia

Hi Sabrina,
I believe that William henry was married to Jesse Maria Plume and her parents were Edward Plume and Sarah Tiffin. You don't by any chance have any info on Edward as all I can find is an estimate on his birth date but I would like to find out about his parents or his death.
