I had no more luck than you did in trying to find birth/baptism records on SP. I couldn't find them on the LDS site either. Is it only birth dates that you are looking for? There is someone on Ancestry who looks to have a lot of information on this family including further census information for that particular family.

The ancstry family tree is probably my sisters, the stumbling block we have is tyin our family to the 1841 lasswade family, although it is a close match, there is no definate link other than occupation of father and a brother called alexander. That is why we need the births in scotland, as since moving to england they only recorded thei birthplace as being scotland rather than the actual location which makes it very hard to link up.

thanks for looking

The tree I was looking at on the Ancestry website was submitted by username alpaterson. A few others have saved the same records.

According to alpaterson, George and Jane's eldest son, John was living back in Scotland by the time of the 1881 census. I have looked at the census record attached, and John does give his place of birth as Lasswade. He is a gardener, but several of his children are  also papermakers.

If alpaterson is not your sister, you might want a look at the tree. http://trees.ancestry.co.uk/tree/5276272/person/-1476718299
