William Jones, born (around) 1834 in Great Boughton, Flintshire was a plasterer and builder in Liverpool in the late 1800's.
He is my great, great grandfather.
He went into partnership with his son in law, Andrew Fleming Bancroft (born 1859, Manchester) building and brick making. I have a bancrupcy notice which says their business was the Borough Road Brickworks. They were declared insolvent in December 1899 and managed to recover from this in 1903. William and Andrew F show up on all the census returns, including 1901 and 1911, except 1891. I just cannot find them at all.
William was married to Elizabeth (Edwards) b. 1829 and the 1881 census shows him living at 8 Marmion Road as head of the family. also listed on this census are two daughters, Mary Laura and Sarah Edith. He is listed as a plaster and builder.
The 1901 census shows him living with Andrew Fleming Bancroft at 3 Kingsland Road, Tranmere, Birkenhead. This is the same address shown in the London Gazette in 1899- 1903 when reporting the bancrupcy proceedings.
The 1911 census shows Andrew & Family living at 1 Oxford Drive, Waterloo, West Derby. Andrew Fleming Bancroft is now listed as an estate agent.
Please can someone help me to find them on the 1891 census. I would also like any information at all on the Borough Road Brickworks, Birkenhead.
Thanks.
