Our relative was James Edward Morrisroe born in County Roscommon (Mayo) in the 1870s emigrated to Delphi Indiana and in the early 1900s emigrated to Alberta Canada.  Married to Catherine Schrader.   Does anyone have more background regarding his Irish roots and relatives?

I have a number of Civil birth records for James Morrisrow - Registered in Ballaghaderreen Registrar’s District in 1870/1871/1872.
Do you know the names of his parents and siblings.
What year did he leave Ireland?
Do you know the name of the townland?
Do you know the name of the parish?

The details posted here don't match up with his marriage record-
Edward J. Morrisroe born 1 March 1871 Delphi, Indiana, parents James Morrisroe and Catharine Noland, m.1905 Catherine M. Schrader

Thank you for that information. It must have been his parents then James Morrisroe and Catherine Noland that were from Ballaghadereen. I thought Edward J had been born in Ireland but he is the one who married Catherine Shrader and both lived in Delphi Indiana. So I am now inquiring now about the former.

You would need to trace James Morrisroe and Catharine Noland (possibly Nolan) in all possible U.S. census records to see-
1) when they were born
2) if they were born in Ireland
3) when and where there children were born
this will give you an idea (if they were from Ireland) when they might have arrived in U.S.
then you need to check vital records to see-
1) if any place of birth in Ireland is given
2) if James and Catharine's parents are mentioned, etc.

I would be very interested in knowing what you have regarding the births of the Morrisroe's you mentioned. Please contact me via email.

I can add another James Morrisroe to your list as well.

James, born 15 July 1877 to Pat Morrisroe and Mary Morrisroe (nee Morrisroe also). He was baptized 27 July and the sponsors were Pat Morrisroe and Bridget Morrisroe.

If anyone has a connection to this family please contact me via email. THANKS!
