Hi
Sorry - but I can't understand how their employment records would solve your query?
Would it not be easier to get a copy of their marriage cert and compare the date of marriage to the date of birth on your fathers birth cert?
EDIT
Edith Mary Hassall married Charles W J Culley in 1912 in Congleton but there is no marriage listed for an Edith May Hassall to a George Pearce and no birth in 1913 for a male Pearce with mothers maiden name Hassall
Births September qtr 1887
Edith May Hassall Congleton 8a 311
Thank you for your reply..
.this is not my Edith Hassall...mine born 24 May 1884 Broseley Shropshire... and was found in the 1911 census at the county Asylum Parkside in Cheshire... ( Edith Hassatt) she was a cook/domestic working for a Dr. Sheldon head of the asylum.
Between 2 April 1911 and 18 December 1912 when she left England she met, possibly married, George Pearce became pregnant and moved to Canada.
If I found when Edith left Parkside House the records might show why she left and where she was going.
As mentioned earlier I have not found a marriage entry for her and George Pearce... the only mention of George is the passenger list and my father's Canadian birth certificate.
Any and all records of George Pearce were removed from the family files by Edith.
thanks again.
