Hi Jan,
Exciting times for you, I remember when I first started my researching.   Yes, Tiverton is a lovely really lovely place, as are all the villages around that area.

Have you considered placing a post on this site to get more information on your Saunders family.

Also do you have a death certificate for your Elizabeth Saunders (Norrish), this will show you much more

If you don't mind me asking, are you using Ancestry at all?    Have you found Census information
for 1841 onwards to confirm all of these births etc. for the Saunders family.

Our grandfather William George Saunders migrated to Australia in 1866 where his Mother Maria re-married in Sydney to William George Todhunter.   We have much history in regard to the Todhunter family.   Maria Saunders (nee Cox), William Saunder's wife, was Grand-daughter of Francis Cox the convict transported to Australia on the 2nd Fleet.    Francis Cox's daughter Sarah Cox married William Charles Wentworth, Vaucluse House in Sydney is where his family lived, and Blaxland, Wentworth & Lawson were the first to cross the Blue Mountains in 1813.

So we have quite an amount of history for this side of the family.   Our Grandfather William George Saunders spent much time with the Wentworth family, both in England, and on the properties owned in Warren, namely Haddon Rig, and other places in Queensland, working for Cobb & Co. coaches.

I look forward to hearing further from you.

Are you aware that the factory moved to Tiverton from Loughborough cc 1816 following the Luddites attack and that many of the workers and their families also followed John Heathcoate down there (walking!)?
If you wish to do more research on Heathcotes factory these sites may be helpful:-

I found Tiverton Museum extremely helpful in my queries to them as I also live in Oz, and won't be able to visit anytime soon!
