Hi
The Gentlemen's Magazine is free on Google Books
http://books.google.co.uk/bkshp?hl=en-GB&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4HPEA_en-GBGB236GB236&tab=wp
The Honourable East India Company Service - the records for which are held at the British Library
http://www.bl.uk/reshelp/findhelpregion/asia/india/indiaofficerecords/indiaofficehub.html
It may well be worth researching him further there even though he had left the Company's service before he died.
I asked whether you knew where his wife was buried, not where she died. Widows might very well be buried with their husbands so if you know where one is buried it might help to find the other.
Regards
Valda
