Hello dnjgraham and thanks for the contact. I would certainly be interested to extend my knowledge of the Gee family as I've not really spent any time on them. Have you?
It may not be best use of this forum to spend too much time in this thread dealing with much detail and maybe we should use PMs? However, here are a few details which you may or may not know about Elizabeth Ann. As you know she was born in Somerby in 1846 and as you say, she had various brothers and sisters but Thomas was her immediately older brother.
By the 1851 census the family had moved to Leicester and then in 1871 Elizabeth had a daughter Minnie in Bradford, Yorks. The following year she married my great grandfather Joseph King who eventually became an express train driver. I do not know whether Joseph was Minnie's father, nor do I know what relationship, if any, the family in Yorkshire she stayed with when pregnant had to her own family.
When she married Joseph she gave the wrong age for herself (or at least it was recorded incorrectly). However, as you probably know, that was a fairly common occurrence.
She and Joseph had 4 daughters and a son and the last daughter was my grandmother on my mother's side.
I have Elizabeth and Thomas' father as George William Gee (1801-1885) born in Cold Overton. I had the mother as Elizabeth but didn't know until now what her surname was.
I don't know what generation you are but if you are the same as me that would make us 2nd cousins. Greetings cousin. I look forward to hearing from you.
Tony
