Hi Steve

No worries ;D   I've only just started moderating so my "L" plates are still fresh in regard to responding "appropriately"  8)  ;D

Glad you and Gemma will be able to discuss your project directly now ;D

Hi all
i am looking for information on The Glaslyn iron foundry that was in Porthmadog, it was one of three from abt 1848 onwards (i do think it is closed and not there now)

I am particularly interested in the Charles Williams, Charles Henry Williams and Goronwy Wyn Williams that ran/ owned the foundry.

Any information would be good as trying to compile a personnal family journal on the family history for my mother in law!

thanks gemma

If I can remember correctly it was Glaslyn Foundry Charles Williams &son  managed by Mr Goronwy Williams who had his office next door to Ynys Tywyn house where holiday letting is now.
Goronwy`s wife was Sheila nee Harrison they lived in Garth they had three daughters and son,              Sheila Williams had a sister Pat Harrison and a brother Harold Harrison he was a keen Photographer
If you wish to have information re the three daughters and son please PM me

Hi Richard
Have put Gemma in contact with AJW (who should not have been mentioned, being a living person!), and with the daughter of a sister of Goronwy. Have had telephone contact with both and with a daughter of Pat Harrison.
There was a girl, surname Chalk in same class as me in Ysgol Eifionydd. When you've made 3 postings contact me by Personal Message.
Hwyl, Emyr.
