Falvey/Lundrigan
« on: Wednesday 30 June 10 11:20 BST (UK) »
Hello

Im trying to trace my 3X grand parents  they were Patrick Falvey 1838 and Mary Lundrigan 1833. i Believe they originated from the cork area. Patrick and Mary arived in Wales sometime it the 1840s and were married in Pontypool Monmouthshire in 1853

I believe Patrick died before the 1861 cencus.   I Have the Marriage cert and Patrick has no Father on there.

They had strong ties in Pontypool with a family called the McCourts who i think may have came from the same area together and settled in Wales.

Also  can anyone tell me if when in Ireland, would they have used the Gaelic pronunciation of their names which i belive would be - Máire O Longargain  and Pádraig Fáilbhe

Any help greatly appreciated

Thanks Darren Jones

Hello Djunna,
I have been looking at the Falvey name for quite a while now and I have see the names that you mention, I have been told more than once that the name Falvey is/was commonly found in Cork.
I have my Falvey lineage (although incomplete) back to the 1700's.
My tree is on Ancestry and MyHeritage so feel free to look.
I know also that a relative in Australia has the Falvey tree online, perhaps worth a google ?
Good luck, Dan

on find my past

it say Mary Lundrigan married Patrick Talvey (Falvey) different spelling might be a typing error.
