Monks Horton look ups

Hi there, Have just found Generations of Family from Monks Horton, I would love anything on these family's.
There is a Elizabeth Page B about 1770   M   a John Godden (Godin) they had a Susannah B 1791 Monks Horton   M  a Stephen Gardiner(Gardner) B 1790 Monks Horton  [Stephens father was Henry] They Had a Henry Gardiner (Gardner) B 1821 Monks Horton He Marries a May Cobb From Stowting? there was a family born and died in Monks Horton if some kind person could check church records, graveyards e.t.c My understanding is that it is a small village

Hi just found you... been doing my family tree i'm Stephen Gardners GGG Grand daughter!
I have lots off bits including a letter from Thomas Gardner (Henrys son) dated 1883 when they moved to Palmerston North New Zealand

Are you related in some way?

Hi there, great to hear from you. I am a ggg granddaughter of Stephen as well, My line is Stephen-Henry-Alfred-Herbert-Naomi-Me.I have alot of info from when they reached N.Z including the tragic death of Henry having only been in the country for 2 days.They lived in Monks Horton for along time but I haven't been able to find any graves for them. I knew that Ann and Albert with his parents Henry And Mary come to N.Z but was unsure of the rest of the family,gosh it hard to know where to start have photos of the graves here in N.Z my email is email address removed by moderator - please use the Rootschat secure personal message system to exchange email addresses thankyou.  The personal message system will be automatically activated once a Rootschatter has posted on the boards three times

Oh wow isn't this amazing ... Yes I have the pictures of the graves too thank you Margaret  and  original newspaper clippings from 1883 reporting on Henrys sad death..
 You seem to be at exactly the same stage as me although last night I managed to find the ship and year Thomas, John and George sailed on and there seems to be a book that includes then - the ship was 'Rakiai'.. The book if you can find it is called 'The Farthest promised land'
I'm going down to Monks Horton (first time and wish you could come with me) tomorrow so I will take lots of pictures and see what I can find out :-)

I would so love to be going to Monks Horton with you, what line are you? let me know how you get on soooooooooo jealous. if there is stuff that you need here let me know would love to look at letters,  looks like we have to message each other 4 times before we can sent email address Have fun in Monks Horton wish I was there.it is so exciting to find a rellie

Oh yes silly me I was so excited I forgot to include my line!
My father was Stanley Fredrick Gardner his father was Alfred Gardner b 1877 his father I Think was William (waiting for birth certificate to confirm which of Henrys children is my great grandfather) gets confusing when some stayed here but not sure which! and there were 10 children .. But think it makes us 3rd cousins once removed?...  Oh and I think GGG Stephen my be buried in molash Ashford kent as I found out this afternoon he was in the kent county lunatic asylum chartham in 1881 :-(

Hi Margaret, I am also a ggg granddaughter of Stephen GARDINER (Gardner) through Henry's daughter Margaret that came to N.Z. I have been researching  for many years.

If you sent a personal message I cannot receive it.  Henry & Mary Gardner had 12 children.  Believe 2 went to America.

Hi Marcia, Yes had sent you a personal message, I think Elaine and myself had the some trouble think a number of exchanges must happen before a personal message can be sent with contact deals, I am from Henry's son Alfred last born 1864 who come to N.Z with Henry and Mary nee COBB I am happy to share info and Elaine from Henry's son Stephen who stay in England is looking forward to another part of the family coming together. Elaine lives fairly close to Monks Horton and Woodchurch about 40 mins drive. I live in Auckland at the moment but grew up in the Bay of Plenty. yes 12 Children, which 2 do you have going to USA
