Only just found this site and I may be able to fill in some gaps.  My name is Joy Kubler, married to David Kubler.  His father * born in 1918 is still alive and well at the ripe old age of 91 and lives with us.  His father was Charles Kubler and his mother was Frances Kubler.  His grandfather was called Gustave (possibly Charles Gustave) who was married to Martha.

Dad has one brother * born in 1920  (also still alive) who has two daughters, one of whom is called Trinette and we always wondered where the name came from but after reading your post it appears there was already one in the family.  It seems too much of a coincidence.

All dad (Cyril) remembers is that his dad had a brushmaking business in Dublin and is buried in a graveyard in Clontarf (hope that's how you spell it).

To follow on from the last message I think dad was a little confused when he gave me those names (allowable at 91 yrs old!) and his dad was Augustus Henry Kubler and not Charles.  Apologies.  If I can help any more please get in touch.

Thanks a million. I have been in touch with * and * over the past year (your cousins I think) and have exchanged information on that branch of the Kubler family. My great grandfather is Charles George Kubler older brother to Augustus Kubler who married Frances Baxter. Charles George died in ww1 was with the Connaught rangers died of wounds in Ebblinghem, near Lille in France 1918. Am I right to say you are married to * and that his Dad is * brother to * .

Hi
sorry for time lapse in replying. Could you ask Cyril if he has any photos of his grandparents charles henry kubler and martha chapman kubler. Trinette had a treasure trove of photos which were fantastic and I just wondered if he has any more! Alao does he know anymore on Rudolph Kubler born in Switzerland 1820's circa. Thanks again

The Kubler Family

To Brianog

Have asked dad and his parents Augustus Henry Kubler and Frances Baxter moved to the Isle of Man at some point.  They then separated.  Augustus died on 13/03/1957 and is buried in the parish cemetery of German in Glenfaba which is on the west coast of the IOM (so called because it is where the cathedral of St German is located and not to do with our name - just a coincidence!).  Frances died on 17/08/1957 and is buried in the parish of Patrick, also in Glenfaba IOM.  Both of these parishes come under Peel now.  She lived in Glen Maye on IOM.  Don't know if dad has any photos - will ask him.  Hope this is of use to you.

hi bexley
Great to hear from you again. I have been working hard and so have had little time for Kubler research for a while now. Am finishing work for the summer tomorrow so I will be back on the Kubler trail. Have been in touch with Trinette and feel for her in her sad news recently. Does your Dad Cyril remember going to visit Howth, co Dublin to see Trinette back in the 30's or so. She ran a small boarding house called Galteemore there in Bailey, Howth.
Have found a lot more information re my grandmother Alice Kubler and her sisters and will send a message re same. Hope to talk soon Brianog
