Hunter/Buchanan of Partick

Hi, is anyone researching Patrick Hunter d. Dec 1901 and Marion Buchanan d. Feb 1909 both at Western Infirmary Hospital.  They were married in 1864.  Patrick (also notated as Peter on some certs.) parents were Thomas Hunter and Ann O'Connor.  Marion's parents were James Buchanan and Catherine Buchanan.

They had the following children:  Patrick; James; Agnes; John; Catherine and William.

William died in 1955 married to a Elizabeth Watson Vaughn.  He had a son also called William.

Catherine died in 1903 married to Duncan McTavish (from Oban).  They had daughters Elizabeth McFadyen McTavish and Marion Buchanan McNeil (nee McTavish).

Wondering if there are any relatives out there??                     Regards, Sarah

I have a William Buchanan who married Mary Ann Hunt 1863 Glasgow. On various certificates Mary Ann uses Hunt and Hunter  as her maiden name!

It may be worthwhile as you are searching to also try the surname HUNT.

My research has been a nightmare 
I have since found out that Mary Ann HUNT/HUNTER was born Belturbet Barracks Cavan and father was William Duke 

Note my William Buchanan was born 1846 Barrhead to parents James Buchanan and Catherine McIntyre.

Hi Kay, thanks for your message.  I will take your advice - never thought about trying Hunt.  Actually, I also have a William Buchan and Kate McIntyre in my tree.  They were the parents of Margaret Buchan born about 1844 who married John McIntyre on 7 March 1866 at the Taynuilt Hotel, Muckairn, both of Oban.  John McIntyre was a slater and son of Mary McFadyen and Peter McIntyre.  Note the spelling of Buchan - Margaret died in 1890 at Lorn Combination Poorhouse.  This Margaret Buchan is, as far as I know, not related to my Glasgow Buchanan's although you never know.

Perhaps its time I took the Glasgow Buchanan's out of the too hard basket.  Kind regards, Sarah.
