I was unable to find some WW1 records. I have his name, date and place of birth, his regiment name(no number) but I stll couldn't find any records of him. I'll try again tonight but I'm sure I searched with minimal info. He has a very common name ...  :-\

Looking forward to the 90 minutes.  :)

Hi Ruskie

WW1 service records are not on FindMyPast, those that survived the fire during WW2 are on Ancestry.

With you there Ruskie...  I was going to try that too.  oh no I wasn't;  it's WWII I wanted.. dohh!

Anyway, if nothing else I hope to find where two branches went to India in the late 1800's.  Ancestry has been great in showing me incoming lists but aparently I need FindMyPast for the outgoing.

Fingers crossed; Hapy Hunting all.

Are WW2 online? I thought they were still in (um ... that place in London) and to view them you have to prove your relationship to the serviceman. Or have I got that wrong too?

Hi Ruskie

WW2 Service Records are still with the Ministry of Defence and if the Service person is deceased, next of kin can apply for copies. Details are in the link below
