So is this the info we have about  the James Murray PITTENDRIGH who came to Australia?

James Murray PITTENDRIGH married Hilda Frances KENNEDY in 1906, Teddington UK and had the two sons mentioned in Hilda's death notice - David and Ken.  Described as a 'merchant' shown arriving in Melb 1921 and 1926, lived in Toorak (Melb), then Edgecliff, married Olive May LLOYD at Manly in 1947.

Do we have a death for him or for Olive?

Hello all,
would you mind stating what interest you have with this bloodline? were you related?
This is becoming very curious, either there are two James Murray Pittendrighs or he was a bigamist!
(I shall post more information of his marriage to my great-grandmother at a later date, my mother has this information...)
The JMP of our bloodline is the nephew of David Murray 1829-1907 Merchant and politician, married to Rebecca...

I'll mail soon,
thank you all once again,
Claire

Hi Claire,

No interest in this line at all, just trying to help with the lookup.

This is not bigamy - There are definitely two James Murray PITTENDRIGH's ten years apart in age and from different parts of Scotland.

1. b 1880 Pittenween Scotland to Rev James PITTENDRIGH and Helen (appears in Pittenween Fife with both his parents in 1881 and Anstruther Easter Fife with both parents in 1891)

= 1. Hilda Frances KENNEDY
    2. Olive May LLOYD

2. b 1890 Edinburgh Scotland to John Kay PITTENDRIGH (a sea captain according to marriage record) and Ros[e/a] (appears in Edinburgh Scotland with his mother (no sign of father)  in 1891 and 1901 census) They must have moved to Weston Super Mare at some stage as he lists his next of kin as Mrs R PITTENDRIGH Hill Road Weston Super Mare in 1919. I did find a John Kay PITTENDRIGH aboard a ship coming into Sydney a few times as a young lad "apprentice" in 1867 and 1869 so looks like he was at sea from an early age. By 1871 he is already 3rd mate at just 19 so looks like an interesting chap. BTW That marriage was in Cardiff Wales John Kay PITTENDRIGH = Rose Eliza ARLINGTON Sep 1/4 1883 11a 408. John Kay PITTENDRIGH was born 15 Apr 1852 and baptised 6 May 1852 Saint Nicholas Aberdeen parents William PITTENDRIGH and Jane KAY

= 1. Agnes Mary LYDDON
    2. Kathleen Doreen PAULING

I did post the marriage details from the certificate  in reply 12 Claire

I don't have any connection with the family either, Claire.  Like Kris, I've just been trying to help you with your query.  Dazey.
