Images of Crewe & Runcorn - help

Hello

I have just returned from a wonderful long weekend researching family in Cheshire.   Amongst other research I have been looking at streets etc where  my family lived.  One street in particular seems important in their lives and that is Shaw Street in Runcorn.  Sadly the houses my family lived in are no longer there.  Does anyone have any images of the old Shaw Street approx 1900 and also Bedford Street Secondary School in Crewe at about the same time.  Any help appreciated as always.

Parts of Shaw Street are still there, but Vine Street which runs off Shaw Street would be the same type of house. You can see Vine Street and Shaw Street on Street View Google Maps.

Hello again.  Went to see the street on Sunday but sadly didn't take any pics.  I didn't feel it was appropriate as there was a lot of people about.  Just wondered if I could probably see what it was like when my ancestors lived there.

I lived most of my early life within a couple of hundred yards of Bedford Street School in Crewe. It also had an infants section which I attended about 1949/50ish.
I believe it was the last school to be built in Crewe by the LNWR railway company. It was demolished not that many years ago.
There are some photos of it in one of the Memory Lane or Images of Crewe books - I will have to have a look through and try and find which.

That's fantastic Peter.  The school my Nanna went to would be the infants and then maybe progressed to the junior school but can't be certain of that.

Found a couple of pics of Bedford Street School.

The older one is from the book Memory Lane Crewe Vol 4 by Gordon Davies.

The other is at the start of demolition.
