Birth & marriage lookup plse: George INGS b abt 1800-COMPLETED, MANY THANKS :-)

Hi,

Hoping someone has access to Salisbury PR's, I'm looking for the birth of George INGS b abt 1803.

On census returns his birth place is listed variously as Old Sarum, Stratford sub Castle & Stratford on Avon.

He married Ester Ann (unknown) in abt 1830, I think in Salibury, and all their children were born in Salisbury.  She lists her place of birth as Salisbury in all census returns until her death in 1881.

Any information would be most appreciated.

Thank-you very much, I really appreciate your effort.  Did it by any chance say which church or parish, as I gather that Old Sarum might have been seen as Stratford sub Castle?

Hi Patricia,

There was a George INGS baptised at Stratford Sub Castle on 27 Jun 1802. Parents - Joseph and Sarah.

There is a Joseph INGS who was buried at Stratford Sub Castle on 3 Oct 1810. No age in the Register.

Hi Nigel,

That one is 'mine', I think - thank-you SO much. I've been trying to find verification that he was born in 'Old Sarum' for years...my g-grandmother and her husband, Elizabeth INGS & Herbert Ethey SAUNDERS, named their home here  in South Africa, so I knew it had some significance, but with me living in Pietermaritzburg and seldom getting to travel, it has been very difficult to find that information.

He also seems to have used Sarah and Joseph in his children's names, and that part of my family had a definite tendancy to name generations after previous generations, so thanks again!

There are some trees on ancestry for this family - one of them has George's wife as Esther Ann May though no marriage date/place shown.

The IGI shows a Hester Ann May, dau. of William and Sarah, bp.22/12/1805 St. Martin, Salisbury, Wiltshire.   Also looked on familysearch pilot site and this is also the only Esther Ann baptism I could find at Salisbury so looks good.
