Hi Neil,
I can only assume that there was a Glass making factory in Hartlepool around 1850. I will try and find out some more.
However, what is a Bottle TELLIER ?
I also note that Roberts son age 10 is also a bottle maker!

hi chris there would have been a few glassworks in hartlepool at this time it had good transport links and access to the raw materials needed.ive had a look at tellier there was no such job in my time in the glassworks but what i could find out this job could have been collecting the scrap glass  in the factory to be re used.a ten year old would have started doing jobs like holding the shade for the gatherer this is a shovel or some gauze held in front of the gatherers face to keep the heat off him.i will have a look  on line today to find some facts on bottle works at hartlepool.
