Hi,
Some of my family were from Parkgate and I was recently given a copy of the First Donegore marriage and birth records. I had a quick look through for McGrugans. There's several around the 1960-80s, maybe a bit recent to mention here.
I doubt if any of this will be new to youse, but here's the earliest ones I can see:
14/08/1896: Alexander Nesbitt, Holestone, blacksmith married Martha McGrugan, Moyadam, aged 20. Groom's father William Nesbitt, labourer. Bride's father William John McGrugan. Witnesses Thomas Tweed, Sarah Jane McGrugan. The wedding took place at Mary Crawford's Father's house.
^ Your gg grandparents Andrew. Sounds like you already know the details. This one is unusual as the age of the bride is normally only given as "Full" or "Minor". The location is unusual too.
11/10/1901: Andrew Ross Nesbitt, Craigrogan, workman married Sarah Jane McGrugan, Four Mile Burn. Groom's father Alexander Nesbitt, labourer. Bride's father William John McGrugan, labourer. Witnesses James Nesbitt and Sarah Nesbitt. Location First Donegore.
28/3/1902: William John McGrugan, Thrushfield, labourer married Anna Eliza Graham, Silversprings. Groom's father William Jphn McGrugan, labourer. Bride's father William Graham, farmer. Witnesses John McGrugan and Lizzie Nesbitt. Location First Donegore. (Thrushfield and Silversprings are right next to each other, on the SE side of Parkgate)
