lost two great grandfathers

Thanks, i only just found him in the last two days and we were very excited to find him and his parents. Looks like i will never find his death or place of rest though. I think that will be too hard, certainly for me. the same applies to my other g grandfather Thomas Kavanagh.
I have promised that if i ever won any money i would love to employ a researcher so i could find them. I am getting old now so i am not holding my breath.

I would say it is quite difficult to find them - both have names which could be mistranscribed/mispelled and where would you begin to look?

Have you looked in 1911? I'mm sure you have.

never found them in the 1911 census as i am only with Ansestry so cannot look for them on that census.

The Morning Post (London, England), Monday, October 30, 1899
This mentions a  Trooper Thomas Edward Kavanagh, wounded in the finger at Battle of Ellandslaagte , Boer War.
He is named in 4 papers , all as Thomas Edward.
Could this be the one you found ?

No that's not him unfortunately. Many thanks for your time though. Thomas had no middle name and would have been only 35 in 1900.

Thanks. no one has been able to find Thomas Kavanagh ever. I did find, yesterday, a Thomas Kavanagh in the military records for the Boar War, first Leinster Reg on page 637 but i cannot get into the records as i am not a paying member - could be him.E.

not on a site that i know of. i found it in the library on the St Catherine's records. there is a Thomas and a John Kavanagh listed. My Thomas would have been born in Ireland, wicklow,  and lived in Co Durham.

Like everyone I can`t find him in 1901.

Thanks. i did once pay for FindMyPast and thought it was poor compared to Ansestry and i didn't find anything on it, it didn't even list thosei knew about and had certs for.
