lost two great grandfathers
« on: Friday 18 June 10 21:14 BST (UK) »
Hi, i have searched for years to find two great grandfather's deaths without sucess and have no idea why they are not registered or appear not to be.
I am looking for Thomas Kavanagh born wicklow 1865, married 1894 Co Durham but cannot find death anywhere.
Also Joseph Edward Johnson born 1880 Newcastle upon Tyne, married 1901 Darlington Co Durham and again cannot find a death for him.
Why should this be? How can i find their deaths if they are not listed? Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance
E.

Hello,

what are the last dates and places you have for them?

The only Thomas Kavanagh I can see in 1901 born 1865 is still single.
There could be variations of his name in the registers - Cavanagh/Kavanaugh etc. Havae you searched for variations?

best wishes
heywood

No, I think he's the one I found- right registration district.
So going back to my questions- where and when do you last have him?
I can see his marriage but not him and wife.
Do you have them in 1901 and 1911?

Heywood, Thomas Kavanagh married in 1894 in Lanchester Co Durham to a Margaret Mc Coy.
Joseph Edward Johnson married in 1901 in Darlington Co Durha, to a Monica Lillian Edith Maude.
I have these two certs so i know they are correct but have never found these men's deaths and i have looked too so i am stuck.

When did they last have children?
Where were the children born?

Is there any family notes where they were last living?

Have you got them in 1911?

Thomas Kavanagh's wife Margaret Mc Coy re-married in 1902 to a Patrick Mc Intyre.
He is not to be found in the 1901 census nor is his wife Margaret or his daughter Catherine Bridget aged 5.

first child born 1896 in Gateshead Co Durham named Catherine Bridget.
Second child born 1899 in Gateshead named John Thomas but died in 1900 in Newcastle.
They lived in Gateshead and he is not on the 1901 census and his wife remarried by 1902.
