HEMINGBROUGH P'SH TRANSCRIPTS - HANLEY
« on: Friday 18 June 10 11:08 BST (UK) »
Looking for the possible baptism of Jonathan HANLEY (HANLAY or HANDLEY)
at Hemingbrough
Birth:  c.1680-1700.
Occupation: Tailor.

Settlement Exam' in 1719 gives place of birth as BARLBY which I understand was a hamlet in the p'sh of Hemingbrough.

He married Rachel BURTON at York in 1718 and settled at Thorganby - son Herbert  moved to Lincolnshire.

I have asked Selby if they have copies of Hemingbrough on microfiche or transcribed copies- if not - then these
Registers will be at the Borthwick Institute, York University, North Yorkshire. Will re post when I have any details
from Selby library.

Have eventually heard from Selby Library, sadly they have nothing for the area of Hemingbrough, the records are held at the Borthwick Inst, York. If I am going in the future or know someone who is, will see if his entry can be found.
