Enormous cake for tidy up/colour please

Hello folks,
can you believe this!
It is true. This cake was designed and executed by Edwin Schur for the 21st Bakers' & Confectioners' Exhibition at The Agricultural Hall, London, in 1913.
It was 16 feet tall with a circumference of 25 feet.
If any kind rootschatter would have a go at a tidy up or a colour, that would be much appreciated by a workmate who is related to Mr Schur.

I wonder was the cake ever eaten. It would seem a  shame to cut into that,but a waste not to.

Images of Time, thank you very much for your effort. We have tried to visualise it in colour and our imaginations have failed us.
Speaking as a fat chap, it looks like the stairway to heaven. Far surpassing the desert known as Death By Chocolate. A desert can be knocked back in mere minutes...this cake - well, this would surely take weeks.
The thought has occurred to us (wonder what you all think?) that it might be hollow.
