George Stephen Mycroft
« on: Wednesday 16 June 10 17:05 BST (UK) »
I am looking for the parents of a George Stephen Mycroft born in 1907 (I think)  who was born in Derbyshire and I know married in Shardlow to Edna. I have very scant information to go on and I am trying to trace my lost immediate family (which without any data or official records is very hard).

Thank you if you can help me out with this, as I am overseas it is hard to research things!

as this birth is pre-1912 when mothers maiden names were shown in the index, it wont be possible to work back thru a likely marriage and then onto the 1901 census with any certainty.

Get the Certificate (via the GRO online with a Ccard for £9.25) and it will reveal his parents names, which will get you back on track.

George Mycroft's parents were Frank Mycroft (born Dec qtr. 1873. Mansfield district) and Harriett Straw (possibly born Dec qtr. 1874. Mansfield district).
George and all his family were born in Pinxton (Alfreton), which is Mansfield district and Nottinghamshire NOT Derbyshire.
He had 1 sister and 2 brothers.

When you have made 3 postings you will be able to PM me to let me know exactly what information you require and I will help if I can.

Mike
