Unfortunately passenger lists from Ireland to England dont exist.

Have you found them on the 1851 census?

The public info for the census returns in Lancs. is very limited. First definitive info is marriage of a daughter in 1874.

Hi

What was that daughters name?

This will help us look for the family in the 1871 census.

Ben

Her name was Elizabeth Waters, married Joseph Whelan 7/8/1974 in Manchester. She may have a brother named John. father was William. Mother was Elizabeth.

I cannot seem to find them on the 1871 census at all. Do you know how old Elizabeth was when she married?

I did find an Elizabeth Whelan in the 1881 census aged 23 born in Wexford, wife of Joseph. Although a father in law John Dunn was living with them so I am not sure if they are your family. Joseph Whelan was a cooper and Elizabeth was a dressmaker.

Interesting. The "cooper" connection makes sense. I need time to think. Think I'll have to get a copy of the marriage certificate. Thanks
