in Kelly's directory of 1899 under Lewes [sussex] is the following;

              hillman, hillman & weller lime burners
    coal merchants & importers of artificial manure &c.
                          malling street cliffe

 i was wondering if someone could look on the 1891[for lewes] please and see what hillman, hillman's first names are [all lime burners]... weller is james i know this from the 1901 census and i think one of the hillman's is aubrey looking at the 1901 census ??? if so who was the other one...
also could someone please look-up the date of death for james weller
iv looked on freebdm and james on there dos not tally with the date
on the 1901 census for a james from lewes...
one last thing please could someone look at the 1911 census and see
what occupation harry weller was in [age 55 b. 1830 lewes sussex]

How old was he in 1901 and 1911 censuses and where was he living in 1911

There are 13 male Hillman entries in Lewes - all of whom were old enough to be working

It would mean downloading all 13 images to find the occupation

The 1881 entry for  Aubrey Hillman shows him as a 41yr old farmer in Sussex and a farmer/merchant in 1891 and 1901.

Looking back on the 1851 and 1861 censuses - he was the only son

This would seem to fit for the death of James Weller if he was 71 in March 1901

Deaths December qtr 1905

James Weller aged  76  Lewes  2b 103

The other Hillman in Hillman, Hillman and Weller was Harold Hillman (1863-1937), who was Aubrey's first cousin.
The Hillman, Hillman and Weller partnership was dissolved on 31 December 1899 - as reported in the London Gazette of 12 January 1900.
