Any information on his birth and family (parents/siblings) will be welcomed.  It's possible his father was Henry as I found a record of a Henry in Bendigo going bankrupt in 1862.  it looks as though the family continued until recently in Bendigo.

Your Arthur Reuben Plumbe was buried at Bendigo Cemetery on 25.10.1957.  Grave Number 18771.  Interment Number: 038266.  He was aged 79.

I guess that must be the family as there seems to be a gap into which Christopher would fit.

Christopher Plumbe was my great-grandfather.  He served as Inspector of Mines in Ipoh, Malaya, retiring in 1904 and moving to England with his Cornish wife Emily, met and married (in 1893) in Malaya.  One daughter died, the other was Elsie, my father's mother.  He died in Putney, London in late 1911, aged 53, and his death certificate says he was born in Bendigo.

A Henry Plumbe butcher of Sandhurst appeared in the  Victorian Government Gazette in March 1864   

He was listed under Return of Melbourne Insolvencies for the week ending 20th March 1864.

Under a schedule listing the shareholders of the Forest Creek Diggers Gold Mining Company There is a Henry Plumbe butcher of Forest Creek holding 1 share.

This was a new venture and a share was valued at 13 pounds.

If it is your Henry it puts him in the Victorian Goldfields near Castlemaine in 1856.
