Hello Tina , I’m researching my family too. My grandad was Hugh Hogg born 1902, siblings were , Mary Sarah, Joseph Henry, Patrick 1908 , then in 1919 twins Francis and Margaret were born. Hughs parents were Joseph and Margaret maiden name Magrath, in the 1911 census they were living in clough besides the family you talk about, I’ve been trying to find out if Joseph and John were brothers, Margaret and Sarah have the same surname too 😬

Hello, thank you for the info , I had struggled to find a marriage record for my great grandparents. On the original 1911 census I noticed that it mentions children living which was 4 and in the next column it says 6 implying 2 children have died, do you know how I can find out more? Also trying to find out if hoggs at number 5 clough are relations? Thanks again 😊

Thinks it says 5 children born, 4 still living.

Christopher James Hogg born at Clough - 25th December 1910.

Thank you, very sad . I did find twins born in 1919 too . Hugh is my grandad and weirdly the pattern of his children is similar 1st child born 1928 then 4 more then in 1940 boy girl twins and then 1952 another daughter. Thank you so much for your help. I’m also trying to find more info on the twins of my great grandparents, Francis and Margaret Morgan born 1919 😊

Sorry to bump this old thread but I just wanted to add my 2 pennies. My grandmother was Sarah Hogg - her parents were John Hogg and Sarah Hogg. I believe she was a (seemingly unknown?) sibling of John, Henry, Patrick, Margaret, Hugh, Catherine, James, Mary Jane and Theresa.

My gran was born in Dec 1914 in Glasgow. Her sister Theresa died around a month before she was born and her mum, Sarah died just a week or so after my gran was born. Records of both of their deaths can be found on the Scotland's People website - www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/  :)

Hi Cathy.

I think that Sarah and Margaret may have been sisters. I think I've found the birth record of Margaret and her parents are the same as Sarah (McGrath - sometimes McGraw or MaGraw  ::))

If it's right, Margaret was born in 1881 to Hugh McGrath (sometimes with various different spellings) and Annie Morgan. These are the same parents as Sarah who was my great-grandma.

Here is Margaret's birth record: https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1881/02833/2038593.pdf

Here is Sarah's: https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1878/02957/2083167.pdf

I'm struggling to find Sarah and John's marriage record, and I have no idea the name of John's parents.
