Dear helpful people

I've given up on Mackenzie's marriage details but would now like to find birth details for his father, John Anthony Hindmarsh born in Amble about 1830 and also marriage certificate with Margaret Mackenzie (obviously Scottish connection).  The marriage would have been in the early 1850's.  I have some census info but cannot find these two documents.

Thanks again for any assistance.

Tati and wildkiwi ,

I live in Amble and have done some of my husbands family tree
As you find births etc under Alnwick it does not mean they were born there
Alnwick is the town where the register office is

Wild kiwi the family name Hindmarch is still around here in Amble

Civil registration did not start until 1837 though so any dates prior to that will be in parish records and Alnwick will probably mean Alnwick.  The original registers seem to start in 1645.

From 1st July 1837 BMDs registered with/in/at Alnwick Registration District would have happened in the wide Reg district of Alnwick.

The Reg District was divided into three sub-districts, Embleton, Warkworth and Alnwick, saving a bit of shoe-leather for those registering birts etc.

From c1645 St Michael's parish ( C of E ) was only church within the bounds of the Parish of Alnwick. So all C of E folk within the bounds of the parish would have used St Michael's.  ( The area of the Parish of Alnwick was extensive, but not as large as the later Registration District of Alnwick)

A new C of E church, St Paul's, starts circa 1846, probably to share the burden of increased and shifting population.

Mary Ann HINDMARSH married George HUNTER, September 1848, Alnwick, 25 185

Not sure how she fits in though maybe a cousin of John.
1851 Census has her born c 1828 Framlington.
HO107/2419/67/3

It must fit somewhere as John is staying with a Hunter family in 1851.
