1851 Census of Manchester
« on: Monday 28 March 05 19:35 BST (UK) »
Can someone please search an index of the 1851 Census for Manchester:
THOMAS CUFFWRIGHT  a carter; born between 1821 & 1825
MARGARET CUFFWRIGHT - wife
Married and lived at various addresses in the HARPURHEY, CRUMPSALL, BLACKLEY
and PRESTWICH area.
Variations of the name have been found like CAFFWRIGHT in 1871.
Thanks for any help - ernie

The 1851 unfilmed census for Prestwich, Blackley and Harpurhey has been recovered by the Manchester & Lancs FHS.  It is available on CD from their online bookshop at  www.mlfhs.org.uk

90% of the total population of 8,987 persons have been recovered.

Hope this helps!
