Hi,
There is quite a bit online regarding the family tree of James HOWARTH and Mary Ann CADD. If you cantact the other researchers they may be willing to share the sources of their information with you.
As mentioned by cando, 3 James HOWARTH convicts arrived in Tasmania before 1836. Their Conduct reports make interesting reading.
1821, James HOWARTH (HALWORTH), stated a wife & 1 child at Stockport
1822, James HOWARTH, stated a wife & 2 children at Norland near Halifax. Father & Mother at Native Place of Rosendale Lancaster
1830, James HOWARTH, stated single, mother, Mary, at Native Place of Leeds
Why have other researchers chosen the James from Lancashire? Perhaps they found the Trial records in England and matched them to the reason for Transportation to Tasmania.
You will need to search Parish Registers for baptisms & marriages in England before 1837.
