I found this very interesting. From various sources I now have three different lots of parents for James Rafferty and two different places of birth and two different birth years.

Either he was born in Ireland in 1839 with Parents of James and Elizabeth Rafferty. They arrived in England in 1840 and stopped in Aston and registered their last place of residence in Ireland as County Tyrone. Interestingly they had a son born in 1841 in Aston of the same name suggesting that James born in Ireland may have died young.

Or he was born in England in 1841 in Aston with parents of the same name.

Or he was born in England in 1841 to Michael and Mary Rafferty (nee Burke)

Or he was born in England in 1841 to John Walter and Mary Rafferty

Or he was born in Ireland in 1839 to John Walter and Mary Rafferty (this seems unlikely as they had been in England some years by then).

Does anyone have any information that could verify any of these
