LOL!! it basically means going selling the posies (flowers)

they i believe are my ancestors. my g.aunt, grandad & nan all started selling door to door when they were about 8, they would sell to the big posh houses in the area then take the money home to their mums who in the very early mornings would go to london to buy the flowers come home, make the posies then send the children out to sell.
