The only one of these 4 burials that is represented on the FHS discis Phoebe:

9 Jan 1785  Phoebe Diggle  Daughter of Johnson  (who I think was aka William Johnson Diggle)


But I would think it likely that if this Phoebe was someone's wife, she would have been described in the reigster as that rather than as someone's daughter.

How sure are you of any of those dates? It's been suggested previously that Sarah may have been buried in 1827 and not 10 years earlier, as there's no burial to match the earlier date. I can't see anything in the papers about her death, though I acknowledge that it may be there, I just haven't found it!

(Sarah Diggle who was buried in Basford on 24 June 1827 was apparently 65 years old. This would make her a similar age to William Johnson Diggle, who was 80 when he was buried in 1841).

I have that Johnson Diggle did have a daughter and she was about 2 when she passed In 1785. The other dates I've not verified as of yet. William Johnson Diggle has a burial as being St. Leodargarius 14 sep 1841. Daniel Diggle the elder has his Surname as Digley in records. At the moment I only have dates that are showing on ancestry. Is there any way I can get a copy of the book that states the baptism, marriages and burials for St. Leodargarius as my husband's family are from Old Basford and I think maybe helpful for me.

There's only one Digley burial in Basford on my disc; Ann Digley, 1811.
There's the burial of Daniel Diggle, householder, on 19 May 1768; the only other one I can see for Phoebe Diggle was in 1834 (no age given)

Thank you for this Annie. I've not been able to find names for Daniel Digley s parents. I have him born in 1725 in Basford married to Phoebe Barton in either 1745 or 1750 and him dying in 1780 and Phoebe passing in 1785 but theres no burial info I've found. We intend going to the Churchyard once the weather picks up

I'm looking for all the Diggle names please that are buried, baptised or married at St. Leodagarius Churchyard, my husbands family is Diggle and I'm tracing his family tree. I know there is quite a few buried there but there is no headstones now apart from one, Ann Diggle, who is definitely related to him.  Any help would be appreciated.
