*Completed*-John Rodway
« on: Monday 31 May 10 22:21 BST (UK) »
I have John Rodway (bapt 1830) in 1881 as follows:

11 Ivy St, Shoreditch

John Rodway (49) - French Polisher - Clerkenwell
Maria (48) - Dressmaker - Shoreditch  (was Maria Robson Shuffrey)
Helena Hollett (9) - Niece - Brighton

Grateful please for a lookup for him in 1871 & 1891 (I believe he dies in 1892)

Having trouble in relating 'Helena Hollett' to John. Grateful for any assistance on this.

Thanks Kanskar

Tressle - Thanks for this.  Could Foy Street be Ivy Street? - meaning they are still at the same address as per 1881?

Hi, yes it could be.  Having difficulty reading it.

There is a marriage between a James Hollett and a Mary Ann Matilda Shuffrey but that is in September 1841 in St George Bloomsbury.

I wonder if Helen was the illegimate granddaughter of James & Matilda and was in fact the grand-niece of James & Maria.

Hi

Just trying to see if I could find a link, following what you said etc.  Helena is born in Brighton though and I cannot see a birth registration that fits exactly.

James and Mary Ann Matilda Hollett baptised a few children on the same day 17th October 1852, James Thomas Hollett, Mary Ann Matilda Hollett and William Peters Hollett.

So may be a red herring.
