John Clague born Isle of Man
« on: Sunday 30 May 10 21:25 BST (UK) »
I am researching a John Clague who was born in the Isle of Man and emigrated to Canada/Quebec. He was a 'Watchmaker' in Canada and later in New York. His wife was Caroline Hammon born England about 1824/6(derived from the US 1870 census).I have baptism entries in Canada for some of their children beginning in 1845. I haven't found a marriage in the GRO's but would be very grateful if anyone has any knowledge of this family or has any records of John's emigation

Hi,

I think we may be researching the same family.  My GG aunt's maiden name was Jane Clague, and I believe her parents were John Clague and Caroline Hammon.  My research has lead me to believe that Caroline later married Arnold Stapleton and had my G grandfather Bingham Arnold Stapleton.  If you are interested in sharing information, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,
Krista Robinson
