Hi,

I just read your post and some names jumped out at me and might be worth a message to you. Catherine Hession born c1810 in Ireland. (Could this possibly be your James Hession's sister)?  She married John Hynes and their children Timothy, John, Phillip, Bridget and Michael all ended up in New Zealand around 1861. Phillip married a Cecilia Duggan around 1863 (not sure where as yet). Are any of these names in your records?

Thanks for your time.

Hi there,

The only thing I can tell you at this stage is that, according to the latest shipping records, the family came from Charleside, Co Cork and that James HESSION's father was John and his occupation was a shoemaker.

Ann DUGGAN,s father was Dan - occupation, stone mason.

James & Ann arrived in Australia with James' brother Daniel and his family.

Not much help, I'm afraid.

All the best,
Gail
