help needed on Irish Volunteer

Hi'All,come to a dead end on this one ,please can anybody help??James Cassels lived in mayor st dublin under the 1911 cenus when he was 16. He was involved in the rising first at jacobs factory and finally at the gpo.I would like to point out that his name is miss spelled on the records cassells instead of cassels. He was also on active service 1919-21.I have the honour of having  his 1916 medal and his comrac medal.l can not find his birth marriage or death details, I know he died 1940s 50s thats about it!
I would be greatful of any help.cheers paul

All I have further is that Mr. Cassels listed his address as 42 Lower Mayor Street, Dublin, and he was imprisoned in Frongoch.

to do searchs in glasnevin  cemetery  ok   

on the home page click on genealogy 

the search is very  narrow    so just  enter a letter in each box and click search ( see image page )


 this should take you to  the advanced search page.   this is where you can broaden your search

i have found it easier to search the whole data base like this.  it will take a little time. on first name   you will have to the search around 20 times for each block of 20 year, doing a single letter of the alphabet at a time    but you wont miss any one with your family name

 the records  are still in progress  i have found they only go back as 1889  for my family at the moment

"Cassells J. Lower Mayor Sr, North Wall - clerk" is on the list of around 200 prisoners  removed from Richmond Barracks and sent to Knutsford Detention Barracks England on 1 May

You probably need to read a specialist book on the happenings at both Jacobs and GPO. Perhaps a reader here without a book to sell could check the index of anything they have

Hi all,

If he was at Knutsford, my Great-grandfather may have met him.  Apparently he used to go and visit the Irish prisoners there, as he was living in the Manchester area at the time.

I have a detailed book about the Fron-goch camp but can anyone suggest any books that would cover the internments at Knutsford?
